Foundations, and Starting From Zero

There is a particular kind of stuck that has nothing to do with intelligence. You have heard of ChatGPT. You may have opened Claude once. You typed something in, got back a paragraph that was fine but useless, closed the tab, and quietly decided the whole thing was oversold.
That is the most common place to start, and it is the place Foundations is built for. Seventy-five dollars, sixty minutes, in person or online. No prerequisites and nothing to be embarrassed about.
What an hour actually covers
Not a tour of every AI tool released this quarter. One hour, spent on the small number of things that make the difference between a paragraph that is fine and a paragraph you can use:
- How ChatGPT and Claude actually work, in plain terms, so the output stops being a surprise
- How to write a prompt that gets a result — role, context, task, format, constraints
- What hallucinations are, why they happen, and the habit that catches them
- Setting up your free Claude.ai account and organizing real work in Claude Projects
- One concrete homework exercise to practice before the next session
Every session runs the same rhythm — about ten minutes checking in on the homework, forty to sixty minutes building something on your own device, ten minutes wrapping up and setting the next exercise. Within twenty-four hours you get a written recap and a homework template you keep.
Your device, your actual work
The building happens on your machine, on a real problem you brought. Not a sample dataset. Not a tidy example that works because it was chosen to work.
This matters more than it sounds. A technique demonstrated on somebody else's problem is a magic trick. The same technique applied to the invoice you have to send on Thursday is a skill, and you keep it.
The back office is not your trade
Most of the people this tier is built for did not go into business to do administration. You went into it to cook, to build, to teach, to fix things, to make something people want. The back office arrived uninvited and has been eating your evenings ever since.
I have worked hospitality long enough to recognize that particular tiredness. The point of this tier is not to make you an AI enthusiast. It is to hand back a couple of those evenings, and to make the paperwork stop being the thing you are worst at.
What comes after, if anything
Honestly, plenty of people should stop here. Foundations is not a funnel with a second stage you are meant to reach — it is a complete thing on its own, and being comfortable with a tool you understand is a real result.
If you do want to keep going, the next tier is about building tested workflows rather than learning the tools, and I will write about that one next. You can also book sessions one at a time for as long as you like. The plans page is there if a longer rhythm suits you better, and it is genuinely fine to ignore it.
Not sure this is you at all? That is what the free call is for, and I will tell you honestly if the answer is no. The full tier details are here.
